Daniel Yu

Daniel has over 20 years of experience in the finance industry spanning equity research, merger arbitrage, high yield debt trading, private transactions, structured debt, treasury management, risk management, fundraising and structuring. He has international experience working in New York, London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan. Additionally, he has advised family offices on asset allocation and company CEOs on corporate strategy.

Daniel was formerly the Treasurer for Overseas Chinese Banking Corporation (OCBC) Hong Kong branch. As Treasurer, he oversaw asset liability management, sales and trading. He was a member of OCBC Hong Kong's senior management team and a voting member of OCBC's Hong Kong Asset and Liability Management Committee. Under his leadership, the investment book mandate increased to over US$1bn. Total branch banking and investment book assets exceeded US$8bn.

Prior to being treasurer, Daniel was Head of Credit Trading in OCBC's Singapore head office. He managed a US$1bn bond portfolio focused on Asia, CEEMEA and Latin America that invested in investment grade, bank capital and high yield bonds.

Concurrently, he oversaw the local currency market-making business for Singapore dollar, CNH ("dim sum"), and Malaysia ringgit corporate bonds. In 2015, he also was assigned oversight over the equity trading desk. Before joining OCBC, Daniel was the Head of Asia High Yield Credit Trading at J.P. Morgan in Hong Kong (2005-2008).

Daniel received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Health with a minor in Economics from Johns Hopkins University. He also completed the General Course at the London School of Economics and received a Certificate in Financial Engineering from Stanford University. At OCBC, he was selected to attend an INSEAD executive training program for promising executives.
