Head of Fixed Income Sales and Trading
Phil leads Fixed Income ETF Sales and Trading efforts at Jane Street. He is an expert in electronic bond trading and market structure, acting as Jane Street’s primary point of contact for venues and electronic trading for the corporate bond market. During his 9-year tenure at Jane Street, Phil has played an instrumental role in building out its bond trading desk, in addition to growing its institutional client-facing ETF business. Prior to Jane Street, Phil spent over 5 years as a trader and heading capital management at BlueMountain Capital. He also spent several years at both Deutsche Bank and BNP Paribas as a credit and rates middle office manager. Phil holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Fordham Gabelli School of Business in New York.
Head of Institutional ETF Trading
Viktor Östebo joined Flow Traders in 2011 and relocated to its Asia office in Singapore in 2016. He is heading the firm's Institutional ETF Trading desk that is responsible for the relations with external counterparties and institutional investors across the region. Before relocating from Amsterdam to Singapore he spent the last five years pricing ETFs of all asset classes and from all issuers to institutional investors of all sizes across Europe. Flow Traders is one of the largest ETF market makers in the World. More than 115 traders pride themselves with providing liquidity and highly competitive 2-way risk or NAV markets in more than 5000 ETFs globally. On and off exchange the firm covers ETFs from all major issuers, listed on all relevant exchanges and of all asset classes. Flow Traders has frequently been named ETF Market Maker Asia-Pacific and Europe at the Global ETF Awards.
Head of Asia Pacific Sales
Kem has over 18 years of capital market experience and joined AxeTrading in late 2017 to head up sales in the Asia Pacific region. Over the previous 8 years he has worked as a senior sales figure in Societe Generale and HSBC’s Fixed Income ecommerce teams. Kem helped to grow the global Rates, Credit and Emerging Markets businesses through his expertise in electronic trading, market structure and execution advisory services.
Kem honed his etrading knowledge with roles at both Bloomberg and Reuters but started his career at Hemscott in the late 90’s. Having worked at both sell-side and vendor institutions, Kem has been able to have unique insight of market structural changes over the last 10 years.
Kem holds a Business Administration degree from the University of the West of England in Bristol.
Head of Open Trading
Richard Schiffman joined MarketAxess from BlackRock Financial Management where he was a Managing Director from August 2010 to August 2013, leading the Aladdin Trading Network (ATN) Open Trading initiative. At MarketAxess Richard is responsible for managing the development and implementation of the firm’s Open Trading efforts. Previously Richard had been with MarketAxess for ten years, having joined the firm at its inception in April 2000. Over that period he held several key roles including Head of New Business Development, Head of Information Services, Investment Grade Trading Product Manager and Chief Technology Officer. Prior to joining MarketAxess, Richard was Vice President and Manager of Fixed Income Research Technology at J.P. Morgan, where he was employed in a variety of positions from March 1992 to April 2000.
Head of ETF Advisory
Simon is Head of ETF Advisory at Bluefin Europe. He is responsible for all aspects of sales and business development across EMEA and has over a decade of buy and sell side experience within the ETF industry having held sales and trading roles in London.
Prior to joining Bluefin in April 2014, he worked for BlackRock iShares raising seed capital and spear heading market making and distribution initiatives with clients in the UK, Germany and Switzerland. Simon has also held equity sales and program trading roles at Tradition and Barclays Capital in London.
An associate member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), Simon is a keen amateur rugby player and fan of English cricket. He Lives in Hertfordshire with his wife and three children.
Managing Director, Fixed Income ETF Product Strategy
Brett Pybus, CFA, Managing Director, is a member of the Product Strategy Team within BlackRock's Global Fixed Income Portfolio Management Group.
Having joined in 2013, he focuses on Model-Based Fixed Income in the UK and leads the iShares EMEA Fixed Income Product Strategy team.
Before joining BlackRock, Mr Pybus worked at UBS Global Asset Management from 2008-2013 as a fixed income investment specialist where he focused on global, currency and high yield strategies. Prior to that he worked for Lehman Brothers Asset Management from 2005-2008 covering the full range of fixed income strategies as a product specialist. Mr Pybus started his career at Morgan Stanley Investment Management as part of the Strategic Planning and Product Development group from 1999-2005.
Mr Pybus holds an MSc in Economics from University College London and a BSc in Economics from the University of Southampton. He is also a CFA charterholder.
