Eric Busay

Mr. Eric Busay, CFA, is a foreign exchange/ currency/fixed income professional. He is the founder of SROL consulting. Previously he was a Senior Investment Officer at Mountain Pacific Group, working on International Investments, Global Macroeconomics and currency (Jan 2016-March 2018). He has been very involved with adapting to the new compliance environment. He directed the automation of various functions, streamlining the processes reducing repetitive tasks while increasing accuracy using straight through processing techniques, linking databases to platforms and/or portfolio management systems. He served as a Portfolio Manager at CalPERS (July 1998- Dec. 2015), most familiar with investing internationally, benchmarking currencies, (on an execution, TCA and snapshot basis), electronic platforms, portfolio management systems and OTC products. He interfaced with all CalPERS asset classes helped groups create beta tilts, hedge and how to create them synthetically or in their own portfolios. He has been involved from concept to portfolio construction, often part of a team that would consider the macro asset allocation decision within the Board set parameters for all asset classes. Specialties include currency, fixed income, equity and derivatives strategies. He has worked at a bank, a quasi-hedge fund, a plan sponsor, and an asset manager seeing this market from many perspectives.
